"All realities, all dimensions are open to me"

—Bug Bite

Bug Bite is not, in fact, a Transformer at all. Instead, he is probably the last survivor of an alien race from a now-destroyed parallel universe. At one point a scientist and explorer, Bug Bite has become twisted and embittered, desiring nothing but revenge on the race - and reality - that he believes is responsible for the destruction of his native world.

Normally, Bug Bite presents an image of pleasant and amiable acceptance, more then willing to aid his fellow Decepticons in their march of conquest across the universe. To his leader, he will always be there, providing advice or tactics, or suggesting a course of action. Skilled with electronics, he constantly strives to upgrade the systems of his fellows, allowing them to enhance their capabilities.

Of course, all this is done to further his own ends. His advice is aimed to further his own aims while engineering the downfall of his foes. The upgrades he delivers are booby trapped. Everything he does is twisted around to serve his ultimate grandiose goals. He wants to make the Transformers, as a race, suffer for what they did. And, when the time is right, he shall reveal his true nature, and ensure that those responsible will know why he has done what he has.

Capabilities

While not especially strong, Bug Bite is rather fast and agile, not to mention somewhat elusive. In robot mode, he wears a pack that gives him a limited degree of flight as well as impressive maneuverability. Additionally, he wields a twin-barreled laser rifle; while not terribly powerful, the weapon is enough to at least give attackers pause.

Additionally, Bug Bite has an extensive knowledge of various communications and electronics systems, allowing him to monitor, tap and jam systems with ease. He also has a degree of experience in the fields of extra-dimensional physics.

History

Like the others of his race, Bug Bite was once an organic, humanoid creature. However, a great cataclysm all but destroyed his homeworld, forcing its inhabitants to transfer their organic minds into robot bodies in order to survive. Over time, these bodies were further modified in order to transform into alternate forms to better adapt to their new environments. A scientist and researcher before the cataclysm, the newly mechanical Bug Bite worked at a reclamation facility on his homeworld, supervising teams that broke up ruined structures for use as raw materials in rebuilding.

After millenia of peace, war broke as faction of renegades rose up determined to overthrow the ruling council and seize control of the world for themselves. Bug Bite joined this faction, sealing off his remote facility and turning it into a labor camp; his employees quickly became his slaves, working to claim materials for the renegade cause. Even after Bug Bite was driven out and his slaves liberated by the world's Guardians, he continued to support the renegades' cause.

A few years later, scientists on both sides of the conflict noticed a number of inexplicable distortions in the fabric of space and time. They initially considered them only a passing curiosity, more interested in the conflict between the two factions. However, the distortions suddenly and dramatically grew in size and number, threatening the safety of their homeworld. Initial explorations revealed that these distortions were being caused by events in another reality parallel to their own. Furthermore, the scientists discovered that this reality was inhabited by a race of shapechanging robots similar in form, but very different in nature, to themselves - the Transformers.

To further investigate the causes of this disruption, several members of their race were modified to act as undercover explorers, Bug Bite amongst them. Their organic brains were transferred into Transformer bodies, and they were sent through one of the anomalies through use of a specially modified teleportation system. These covert explores spent several years searching their newfound home, trying to find the source of the abnormally.

But then disaster struck.

The distortions suddenly grew in size, expanding drastically and consuming their native universe. Before its inhabitants could act, their reality was violently ripped apart; Bug Bite watched as his homeworld was first dismembered and then simply vanished, as their entire reality simply ceased to exist. Within moments, everything that he knew was destroyed, leaving him alone, the last survivor not only of his race, but of his universe, and with only one goal in mind.

Revenge.

Maintaining his Decepticon disguise, Bug Bite worked to infiltrate the ranks of the Transformer faction. Over time, he began to build up an extensive power base, preparing himself for the day that he would be able to strike and claim vengeance those who he felt were responsible for the destruction of his home. To his mind, however, it was not just enough to cripple or destroy them; he vowed that he would show the Transformer race the same suffering that he himself had suffered.

As a part of building his power base, he sided with the Decepticon would-be warlord known as Backstab as a way to gain access to the superweapon known as Shadow Flare.
