Once upon a time, there was a Seeker named Greywing. Greywing's bestest friend was another Seeker named Excellion. Excellion was a kind soul for a Decepticon. In fact, his goal in life was to bring some degree of compassion to Decepticon ranks. As one could guess, this was a terrible idea. Megatron told Starscream that he was not to tolerate weakness in his Seekers, and in one fell swoop, Starscream brought Excellion offline. Leading up to this point, Greywing's faith in the Decepticon cause was thinning. This was the last straw. Greywing soon defected to the Autobots, undergoing intense modifications to leave behind as much of his Seeker heritage as possible. Greywing took on Excellion's life views after his death, and became a compassionate, if not rather depressed, spark.

Fiction[]

When Etaoin found Greywing, he was drowning his sorrows at Tankor's Energon Bar. As a matter of fact, Greywing had spent most of his days there ever since Excellion was murdered by Starscream. Noting the Seeker body-type remnants on his body, Etaoin asked if he could pilot ships. Obviously, as a Seeker, Greywing told Etaoin 'oui.' Etaoin asked if the turncoat would join his team as the pilot of their ship...but Greywing was too far down in the dumps to pull himself from the bar. So Etaoin ordered a drink and had a talk with Greywing about why the Seeker was there. Eventually, Etaoin's natural charm got to Greywing and he agreed to be the navigator of the Kibukuth.

Trivia[]

  • The current version of Greywing is an amalgam of the original character in mind and a Seeker named Greyscale, who was to have a Romanian accent and was based on the all-grey Seeker in this picture. The name of the original Greywing was "Gargouille," (he transformed into...well, duh) but the author thought that was just a bit too blunt. Y'know, French word for gargoyle and all. Incidentally, the Silverbolt-colored Seeker in that picture is the basis of Excellion.
  • His creator says that his ideal voice for Greywing would be Steve Blum, who previously worked on Transformers as Dark Scream, Fortress Maximus, and W.A.R.S. in RID, the Create-A-Bot in the DS Transformers games, Trailbreaker in the PSP Transformers game, Barricade, Shockwave, Ramjet, Cliffjumper, and the narrator in War for Cybertron, and Starscream in Prime.
