- "Well that wasn’t meant to happen!"
- —Overclock
While he is a scientist, Overclock is anything but the stereotypical lab-bound, sheltered genius one associates with the type. Loud, outspoken and possibly just a tiny bit crazy, he has a wide array of interests, as well as many ways to divert his own attention, much to the chagrin of his fellow Autobots.
Overclock is overconfident and easily excitable, reveling in a new discovery or a new research project. He is also a rather unconventional planner, often looking for the least likely or least apparent solution to any given problem, and then implementing it in the least expected way. This often has the unexpected results and a tenancy to surprise his fellows, especially when his methods backfire – and they often do.
Besides adventures in science (and the inevitable explosions), Overclock’s other great love is racing. On Cybertron when he wasn’t working on some new device he could often be found engaged in high-speed races on the planet’s extensive highways. This has transferred to Earth, where he likes to enter in illegal street races, disguising his true identity. Given his current undercover assignment in Empire City, this has not made him very popular with his commander.
Capabilities
Overclock’s keen mind is augmented by a massive data storage and processing center that allows him to sort, analyse and store data far more quickly and efficiently then the regular Transformer. His close bond with his partner Ziy allows the pair of them to rapidly gather information and search wide areas.
In robot mode, Overclock carries a light particle beam rifle, as well as an array of fire-retardant foam missiles in his shoulders. His car mode boasts a top speed of over 450 km/h with excellent acceleration and handling. However, in both modes, while fast and agile he is neither very strong nor very durable.
