Shadow Flare is insane. That he is also an incredibly powerful weapon of mass destruction serves to make him one of the most dangerous Transformers ever created.
Originally a normal ”seeker” Decepticon, Shadow Flare was completely rebuilt around a powerful superweapon. However, the process unhinged him; he became convinced of his own power, and developed an obsession with destruction. He does not destroy for the sake of achieving some greater aim or goal, however, he destroys simply because he can.
Shadow Flare professes a degree of loyalty to his current master, however, the truth is he is uncontrollable. Once unleashed, he will simply gather energy and attempt to use his weapon, regardless of the situation or what orders he has been given. Efforts to control him usually see his would-be masters become his victims. In the end, only the most brave or desperate would attempt to control or use him.
Capabilities
In the transformation from his original form, Shadow Flare’s entire body was restructured around a sophisticated superweapon. The device is designed to drain energy from the environment around it, and then channel it into the weapon’s power. Then, when fully charged, the weapon unleashes a devastating wave of power, destroying everything within it, save for Shadow Flare himself. The size and power of the blast varies with how much energy he has absorbed, but he can readily level entire cities.
The weapon does have its disadvantages. Even though it relies on external energy sources to power it, the detonation overpowers Shadow Flare’s systems, shutting him down after it detonates and leaving him helpless until recharged. Of course, since nothing ever survives the destruction caused by the wave, this is rarely an issue.
